Our Programs

Compassion by Design is developing a series of flagship initiatives to support those who care for elders – including family caregivers, professional caregivers, nursing home staff, and hospital staff. These programs are currently in development, providing essential resources, education, and community support. Each initiative not only uplifts caregivers but also advocates for them, aiming to foster a more compassionate culture in elder care.

  • The Golden Circle of Care Hub: A forthcoming online platform that will connect caregivers with expert guidance, training resources, and peer support. It creates a “golden circle” of care by linking family members, healthcare professionals, and community resources—ensuring caregivers never feel alone in supporting their loved ones.

  • The Golden Years Summit: A 3-day annual hybrid conference designed to inspire and educate everyone involved in elder care. This summit will bring together family caregivers, healthcare professionals (including nursing home and hospital staff), and eldercare advocates for expert talks, workshops, and networking. By sharing best practices and fresh ideas, it empowers attendees to improve care quality and drive positive change in elder care.

  • Legacy Forum Workshops: Interactive workshops focused on honoring and preserving the life stories and wisdom of elders. In these sessions, family and professional caregivers (including care facility staff) learn how to incorporate legacy-building activities into care—for example, recording personal histories or celebrating elders’ achievements. By focusing on each elder’s unique legacy, the workshops foster deeper connections and highlight dignity and meaning as central to compassionate care.

Advocacy & Culture Change: Across all its programs, Compassion by Design emphasizes advocacy and cultural transformation in elder care. By raising awareness and collaborating with policymakers, it strives to make compassion, dignity, and respect the norm for elders and their caregivers.

The Golden Circle of Care Hub

The Caregiver Resource Hub will serve as a centralized, user-friendly portal designed to empower caregivers with comprehensive tools and information. Available both online and in print, the hub will feature elder care guides, financial planning tools, and legal resources that address the complex responsibilities caregivers face. Whether someone is just beginning their caregiving journey or managing advanced elder care, the portal will offer step-by-step guides, checklists, and best practices tailored to various stages of caregiving. In addition to these self-help resources, the hub will include a live hotline and chat service, connecting caregivers directly with professionals who can offer real-time advice, referrals, and emotional support. This hybrid approach ensures accessibility for users of all technological skill levels and provides a dependable source of guidance for navigating the challenges of caregiving.

Elderly Care Support Circles

Elderly Care Support Circles will provide a safe, inclusive space for caregivers, elderly individuals, advocates, hospital staff, and nursing home personnel to come together for mutual support, shared learning, and professional guidance. These monthly peer support groups will be offered in both virtual and in-person formats to ensure accessibility for a diverse range of participants. Facilitated by trained professionals with expertise in elder care and mental health, each session will focus on open dialogue, empathy, and practical strategies for managing the emotional, physical, and systemic challenges of aging and caregiving. In addition to peer connection, participants will have access to tailored mental health resources, including one-on-one counseling referrals and group stress-relief workshops. These workshops will incorporate mindfulness practices, guided meditation, and resilience-building techniques designed to support both personal well-being and professional caregiving roles. By bringing together those directly impacted by and involved in elder care, the support circles will cultivate a compassionate community, reduce isolation, and strengthen collaborative efforts in aging care environments.

The Golden Years Summit

The Golden Years Summit will be a premier national conference dedicated to addressing the most pressing issues in elder care. This three-day event will bring together caregivers, elder care professionals, healthcare providers, and policymakers to share knowledge, explore solutions, and shape the future of aging care. The summit will feature expert-led keynote sessions, interactive panel discussions, and a series of workshops designed to provide hands-on learning experiences. Certification courses will be offered to at least 200 attendees, equipping them with the skills and credentials needed to elevate the standard of care for the elderly. In addition to educational opportunities, the summit will serve as a dynamic networking environment, fostering connections between caregivers and industry leaders, advocacy groups, and resource organizations. This event will not only celebrate the vital role of caregivers but also spark innovation and collaboration across the elder care ecosystem.
